Blog Entry For 16/11/2013

It's been a while, but for a good reason at least. My life has been somewhat frantic for several weeks, though all for good reasons.

Recently I was offered a job down in Peebles based on the Scottish borders, and have relocated from Dundee with most of my belongings. I am now working as a junior software developer for a lovely company called EBS Europe. They have been incredibly welcoming and supportive of me and the team there are inspirational. I could go on about what the company does, but probably best you check out their website at www.inforgen.com. Needless to say, I'm excited at joining the team here in Peebles and I am learning so much so quickly. The skills I learnt at University are certainly being put to action.

Of course, moving to my new place meant I was broadband-free for a couple of weeks. A couple of very long, frustrating weeks, but I'm back on-line finally. It has been a strange couple of weeks as I've never lived anywhere but Dundee before and certainly not been so far from friends and family by myself. I'm settling in fine though, and slowly starting to get to know the area.

There is a part of me that will miss Dundee, but a larger part that is glad to start over and leave some recent events in the past for good. One thing I have been surprised with is the genuine sincerity of people in Peebles. I have been accustomed to city life and have found the attitudes and traits of people in Pebbles a welcome and soothing environment to be in.

All in all, here's to a new start. Normal service has almost been resumed, and I am finding my heart and soul slowly getting back to reality. University provided me with the most amazing, varied, unexpected and sometimes challenging experiences of my life, and part of me is relieved to be winding down a gear or two and get back to a modicum of normality. I have found the combination of working, cooking, cleaning and ironing to be perversely attractive! For now...I have a little work to catch up on, so I'll see you all back here soon once I have some lovely internet tidbits for you to feast upon.
